Reader Review: Brian’s Story, and How It Helped Me See My Own
I was introduced to Brian’s book on the very same day my family lost a loved one through the MAID program, after a long and difficult journey with Lewy body dementia and cancer. The timing felt significant, and I agreed to read and review it without hesitation.
Although I don’t usually gravitate toward self-help or memoirs, I quickly found myself connecting deeply with Brian’s story. His experiences resonated with so many of my own—placing a close family member in a care home against their wishes, feeling the absence of a parent during childhood, and now, navigating the challenges of caring for aging parents.
What stood out most was how Brian’s reflections reminded me that I am not alone in these struggles. His honesty and perspective gave me both comfort and validation, showing me that others have walked similar paths. This book has become not just a meaningful read, but also a resource I know I can return to when I need reassurance and perspective.
