BIOGRAPHY

Brian's professional identity began with a pursuit of education in the field of computer network engineering. For nearly two decades, he built a successful corporate career in the technology industry, holding various individual contributor roles in Operations and Engineering before his curiosity about people led him to become a leader in his field.

For over half of his corporate life, he led technical teams through challenging projects and organizational deliveries, all while continuing to work on his people-development skills.  In parallel to the technical work, his passion allowed him to spend several years coaching and supporting organizations through their adoption of Lean philosophies (Toyota based values) and Agile transformations, championing principles like continuous-improvement (kaizen), employing servant-leadership, adopting Lean-thinking approaches, and creating safe-spaces within the workplace for experimentation, Design Thinking (human-centric innovation), and fail-fast/learn-fast cultures.

Near the tail-end of that experience, a profound personal loss served as the catalyst for a different kind of transformation. Brian was called to a new purpose, a mission that shifted his interest from professional systems to human connection. Something that became more than a hobby, but a personal passion that fueled his curiosity about the human experience further. Today, he enjoys being a mental health advocate and storyteller who champions the importance of creating safe spaces for people to be vulnerable and share their unspoken losses without judgment.

Brian believes that true resilience is built not by "moving on," but by growing through our most difficult life experiences. Whenever possible, he enjoys spending time to supporting seniors, youths, family, and friends in his community, helping them integrate their loss experiences and build resilience. His first book is an invitation to find connection and healing on a shared journey through grief, told through the story of his own personal loss.  He looks forward to making continued contributions in the space by the building of supportive communities, possibly further writing, and providing peer support work where feasible.
